DC vs. Baltimore

Marc Fisher recently visited Baltimore and lived to tell about it. A trove of Baltimoreans were less than impressed with his findings, and I found the following among many colorful comments.

"DC is the hot blonde girl who waxes herself nearly bald, went to Penn, and works in communications for a prestigious nonprofit. Baltimore is the brunette who still plays D&D, argues about philosophy on Reddit, and has a taste for kink."

Thoughts, Washington?

Guy's American

Via Gawker comes a stroke of pure genius - a fake menu of he-of-the-frosted-tips' much-maligned Times Square restaurant.

I love fake menus. After reading the NY Times article about the place, these items don't actually seem that far off.

Highlights include the Hobo Lobo Bordello Slam Jam, Donkamole, and the upsizing option on Reno!.

Bon Appetit!

Bad news, DC

Kentucky Tea Party Republican Rand Paul has just been appointed to serve as the Ranking Member on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Subcommittee on Emergency Management, Intergovernmental Affairs and the District of Columbia.

Based on his record of pointless filibuster and silent holds, he doesn't play nicely with others. Let's hope he shows our town some un-obstructionist love.
